Planning your trip

Most campsites here are run by Parks Victoria, with a smaller number of state forest camping areas run by the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action. Some Gunbower campsites are also listed in this region, so check here as well as Central Murray if you are planning a Gunbower trip.

Summers are very hot and dry, and fire restrictions are common. Lakes in the Hattah area fill and dry with river flows, so their condition changes from year to year. Use the Parks Victoria website for current conditions and any booking. Wyperfeld and most Little Desert campsites are listed under the Wimmera.
