The Howqua valley has some of the region's best-known campsites, including Sheepyard Flat, Upper Howqua and Bindaree Flat. Further east, Davies Plain Hut and Top Crossing sit in the Alpine National Park, while Candlebark Campground is in Lake Eildon National Park and the Rocky Creek hike-in camps are on Mount Buffalo. Blue Range Creek and Running Creek are forest camping areas.
