Planning your trip

National park campgrounds here are run by National Parks and Wildlife Service South Australia and are booked through its website. Many other campsites are council or community camping areas, including those run by the District Council of Franklin Harbour, Whyalla City Council and the District Council of Elliston, so check rules and fees with them.

Some campsites need four-wheel drive, and Memory Cove has limited access. Distances are long and services sparse, so carry water and supplies. Check access and alerts with the manager before you travel.
