Planning your trip
ForestrySA's designated campgrounds have their own booking rules and are usually open only in certain seasons because of fire danger, so check the ForestrySA camping page before you go. Caravan parks and the Cudlee Creek tavern park are run privately, so book with the operator. Trail campsites are generally intended for walkers.
Fire restrictions are strict in the Hills over summer. Billy Camp shows where each campsite is and what the official source records. It does not list fees or facilities unless the source does. The Barossa, with Chalk's Campground at Mount Crawford, has its own page.
