Planning your trip
None of the campsites listed here is run by National Parks and Wildlife Service South Australia. Caravan parks, showgrounds and roadhouses are run by their own operators, and the Regional Council of Goyder manages some campsites, so contact them directly. Trail shelters such as Caroona Creek and Black Jack's are intended for walkers.
This is dry country that gets hot in summer, and fire restrictions apply. Billy Camp does not describe hut conditions, water or facilities unless the official source records them, so check with the manager before you go. The Barossa and the Flinders Ranges have their own regional pages.
