Planning your trip
National park campgrounds are run by National Parks and Wildlife Service South Australia and are booked through its website. Many other island campsites are council or private camping areas, including Western KI Caravan Park, so check with the operator before you go.
You will need to book the ferry from Cape Jervis or fly to reach the island, so plan transport before you book a campsite. Distances on the island are longer than they look and many roads are unsealed. Check fire restrictions and park alerts, as parts of the island can close during the fire danger season.
