Planning your trip
ForestrySA publishes booking rules and open seasons for Chalk's Campground and its other campgrounds, so check its camping page before you go. Holiday parks such as Barossa Valley Tourist Park, Tanunda Caravan and Tourist Park, Kapunda Tourist Park and Talunga Park are run privately, so book directly with them. Freeman Hut, Fromms Farm and Rossiters Hut are trail campsites mainly used by walkers.
Forest campgrounds can close on high fire danger days and through the fire danger season. Billy Camp does not list fees or facilities unless the official source records them, so confirm details with the operator. The Clare Valley and Adelaide Hills have their own regional pages.
