Planning your trip

These campsites are run by Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Service. A national parks pass is needed to visit most Tasmanian national parks, and some popular campgrounds, such as Freycinet's Richardsons Beach, run a ballot or booking system in summer. Freycinet's walk-in campsites are for overnight walkers only.

Maria Island is reached by ferry and has no vehicles. Use the Tasmania Parks where-to-stay pages to check passes, bookings and current alerts for the campsite you want. Some campsites appear more than once for different sections, so match the full name before you book.
