Planning your trip

Queensland campsites on Billy Camp come mainly from the state's official topographic mapping. Most of the K'gari campsites are Queensland Parks camping areas, which need a camping permit booked before you go, and the island also needs a vehicle access permit if you drive. Park alerts show beach closures and track conditions. Timber Mill Station Bush Camp is a private campground, so book it with the operator.

Some campsites, such as Central Station and Dundubara, appear more than once for different sections. Check the exact campsite on the Queensland Parks site, and remember that island access is by four-wheel drive only.
